Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland is a one-of-a-kind drive-through Christmas lights and music spectacular from 5-10 p.m. nightly now through December 31, 2011. Guests will drive through a maze filled with hundreds of thousands of LED lights performed in synchronization with Christmas tunes on their radio. Presented by Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland Organization at Pelican’s Stadium Parking Lot.

The South’s Grandest Christmas Show at Alabama Theatre is taking place now thru December 31, 2011. The South’s Grandest Christmas Show will instill the true meaning of Christmas in your family with its combination of traditional Christmas classics and contemporary holiday favorites.

Christmas Tree Lighting at Surfside Beach takes place on Thursday, December 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Surfside Beach Town Hall.

Annual North Myrtle Beach Christmas Tree Lighting
 is on Friday, December 2, 2011, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. The North Myrtle Beach Christmas Tree will be officially lit McLean Park. The park will be transformed into a brilliant holiday scene with luminaries, decorations and the spirit of Christmas. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. and include holiday songs and entertainment by local dance groups. Mayor Marilyn Hatley will welcome attendees and begin the countdown to light the glorious 36-foot Christmas tree. The tree will be decorated with over 2,780 lights. Once the tree has been lit, the children are invited to visit with Santa and receive a free bag of candy while the entertainment continues! The North Strand Optimist Club will serve complimentary hot chocolate and refreshments. Bring the entire family for a fun Christmas celebration in North Myrtle Beach.

 The Myrtle Beach tree lighting celebration will take place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center with appearances by Santa, live entertainment, and other fun and festive holiday activities.

Ripley’s Aquarium Festival of Trees runs through December 31, 2011. More than 50 trees will be on display throughout the aquarium and adorned in unique ornaments, representing the great diversity of the United States.

There are plenty of activities to do here too — all close to our condo rentals in Myrtle Beach. From championship golf on over 110 courses to enjoying a full day of shopping. There’s also inshore, offshore, surf, pier and artificial reef fishing. If you’d rather be on the water, take a private boating charter, or a riverboat cruise. Brookgreen Gardens Holiday Exhibits open Friday, November 25, 2011 and run until January 1, 2012. Signs of the Season in Flora and Fauna. In the Noble Gallery, evergreen trees, wreaths, and plaques decorated with assorted natural materials, along with vintage carousel animal figures add beauty to this exhibit. Signs of the Season in Art and History. In the Jennewein Gallery, Christmas trees, art, and furnishings reflecting the holiday celebrations at Brookgreen in the late 19th and early 20th centuries are on display. These exhibits are free with garden admission.

There are alternative celebrations for those wanting a safer environment for their children. Halloween Trick or Treating at Barefoot Landing is from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, October 31. Dress the kids up and bring them out to enjoy the sights, sounds, and safety of trick or treating at Barefoot Landing.

There’s also Halloween on the Marshwalk — an annual Murrells Inlet tradition. Children are invited to trick-or-treat along the Marshwalk from 5-6 p.m. The Children’s Costume Contest winners will be announced at 6 p.m. Later in the evening, the adult fun begins, as the costumed marauders prowl the Marshwalk. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Inquire at any of the Marshwalk restaurants.

The Myrtle Beach Wine Festival is taking place at Market Common on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. It is free admission but all guests sampling must buy a Wine Fest tasting glass ($3) in order to sample over 120 wines (2 oz samples). There will also be live entertainment and a variety of vendors.

On Monday, October 24, 2011 the Coastal Animal Rescue’s Captain’s Choice Golf Tournament will be held at Wachesaw Plantation Club. The tournament is limited to 100 players, registration includes greens fees, cart, goodie bags, on-course beverages, continental breakfast, lunch at the turn and hors d’oeuvres with a cash bar at the awards ceremony. Win a 2012 Nissan Murano Convertible from Grand Strand Nissan on the hole-in-one contest or win any of the great prizes, including restaurant gift cards, event tickets, and golf course passes.
